Dr. William Stych grew up in Traverse City, Michigan. He knew from a young age that he wanted to be involved in the healing arts and medicine. Several mentors helped him understand the importance of helping people who are ill or injured. He found that he could best accomplish this by practicing as a podiatrist in Traverse City, Michigan.
After graduating from Michigan State University and then the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Stych was selected to serve his residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals. He was the Chief Podiatry Resident at the University of Chicago hospital during his final year, specializing in foot and ankle surgery. Ultimately, he was granted a fellowship to study foot and ankle trauma in Switzerland.
Dr. Stych is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He passed the rigorous recertification examinations in 2005 and 2013.
When not working at his office or the hospital, Dr. William Stych enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and making time every day to get out into the great Northern Michigan outdoors by cycling, cross-country skiing, or hiking.
